Die Martindale-Methode ist das meist genutzte Verfahren zum Testen von Möbelstoffen auf Scheuerfestigkeit. Bei diesem Test wird der Stoff mit einer vorgegebenen Gewichtsbelastung in kreisenden Bewegungen gegen einen wollenen Standardstoff gerieben. Das Martindale-Testgerät arbeitet mit 5.000 Intervallen bis zwei Fäden verschlissen sind. Mindestanforderungen für private Räume und Räume mit leichter Nutzung: 10.000 – 15.000 Schleißtouren. Private Räume mit starker Nutzung und Büros: 15.000 – 25.000 Schleißtouren. Öffentliche Bereiche und ÖPV: 25.000 – 45.000 Schleißtouren. - Nachhaltigkeit: Greenguard Gold, HPD, EPD.

Die Lichtechtheit beschreibt die Farbbeständigkeit von Textilien bei Lichteinwirkung. Um den Grad der Lichtechtheit festzustellen, werden die Muster zeitlich begrenzt künstlichem Tageslicht ausgesetzt. Die Bewertungsskala reicht von 1 bis 8, wobei 8 die beste Note ist. Die Lichtfestigkeit verdoppelt sich mit jeder Stufe, was bedeutet, das gleiche Maß an Ausbleichung dauert doppelt so lange. - Pilling: 4-5 (ISO 1-5)
Pilling ist der Fachbegriff für die Bildung von verfilzten Faserenden, den sogenannten Pills, die auf der Oberfläche eines Stoffes bei Abnutzung entstehen. Die Bewertungsskala reicht von 1 bis 5, wobei 5 die Bestnote ist. - Reibechtheit: 4-5 (Trocken), 4 (Nass).
Mit Reibechtheit oder Abriebfestigkeit wird die Resistenz von Textilien gegen das Abfärben auf andere Materialien bezeichnet. Dabei wird zwischen nasser und trockener Abriebfestigkeit unterschieden.
